Welcome to AdamChester.com! I'm on the home page at EltonJohn.com! - 4/25/07 EltonJohn.com recently interviewed me for a feature article plus a 7-minute video segment, and they've featured it on Elton's home page. Check out the home page and click on the PLAY button under my photo for a sample of the video. Then follow the link to The man behind the piano is... Adam to read the feature article. You have to be a member of Elton's Rocket Club to see the full 7 minute video, but stay tuned, and I'll try to post more of it right here. |

Elton’s 60th concert/60th Birthday celebration at Madison Square Garden- 3/25/2007 Conducting the Brooklyn Youth Chorus for Elton’s concert at the Garden, was truly one of the highlights of my life. 68 incredibly gifted children, ages 11-18, left their choral textbooks at home to allow me to guide them though 16 Elton John songs of the 35 he performed that evening! And to think none of them were even born when these songs originally came out. Yet as the New York Times mentioned in their review, they “managed to bring a sense of uplift, along with some raw power” that made each song sound as exciting as they did the 1st day they were played on the radio! Luckily, they all have parents with excellent musical taste. Elton was truly in top form that night, playing and singing songs he hadn’t performed in decades, as well as all time hits like, “Daniel”, “Funeral for a Friend” and “Tiny Dancer”. You can catch highlights of the concert on msn.com: http://music.msn.com/eltonjohn?GT1=9182 To watch the Fox 5 News report that ran last week in New York about the choir and me conducting them, follow the link below. (P.S. I’m the CHOIR director, not the musical director! Fox corrected it for the spot that ran on the later broadcast. Unfortunately, not here): Watch the Fox 5 News report MyNetworkTV, the performing broadcast service operated by the Fox TV Stations, has bought exclusive U.S. rights to "Happy Birthday Elton," a two-hour taped version of the concert that will air in primetime on April 5, supplemented with celebrity interviews. Phil Ramone will be putting the finishing touches on a DVD of the entire concert to be released in the very near future! I’ll also be posting all the photos from the show, professionally shot by Andrew Holbrooke using only a point and shoot camera, as security would not allow any large cameras! I think you’ll agree, his shots came out amazing! I’ve posted 2 here on this page. You can check out more of his photos at AndrewHolbrooke.com. My wife Maria also took photos backstage of me with Robin Williams, Ozzy Osbourne, and President Bill Clinton posing with the choir and Elton. Three names I never dreamed of writing in one sentence. I send a huge thank you to Dianne Berkun and her Brooklyn Youth Chorus for allowing me to stand in as their conductor for the night. If they’re singing near you, don’t miss ‘em! You can read more about them at www.BrooklynYouthChorus.org. Thank you to the Elton John band, to Davey Johnstone, to Elton John and Bernie Taupin for making the music, and to all of my friends who know I have a leap or 2 left in me. |
