Over a year…? - 7/23/08

I apologize that it’s been over a year since my last update. Here’s the news…

I’ve been busy working on a new CD of original children’s music. The songs taste good AND are good for you! I’ve joined singing forces with a friend of mine, Susan Rudick who is also writing lyrics for most of the songs, and we’re calling ourselves, “The Playdates”. It’s a groovy pre-school vibe of songs I’m hoping to have available before the new school year begins! It will be sold exclusively for now on itunes! Our website, The Playdates.com will be coming soon to an internet near you. Stay tuned for a sample of what we’re doing.

Move over Barry Manilow and your State Farm jingle! I recently scored a commercial for a product called Moissanite! Moissanite is much more than an imitation diamond. You’ll see! While the jingle may not be “a jingle” and isn’t as hummable as State Farm’s, in the event of an accident, your Moissanite may prove to be more handy to you than any insurance policy. I’ll be posting the spot here soon.

The same people who brought you that precious stone are at the helm of the crazy funny webisode, “Treasure Trail” which features a lot of my music cues including the title theme! Check it out on Turner’s Super Deluxe website.

And, listen to the 2 second or so title theme of their other webisode, “The Rascal” now featured on Sony’s Crackle website.

I also wrote and performed a wonderful jingle for a innovative company called, “Counterintuity”. You can hear that little ditty right here.

Video from Elton John’s 60th Birthday concert at Madison Square Garden is now available at Amazon. You get to see my conducting head bobbin’ into action on your big screen. This is a dream come true for me to be listed as a credit (“choir arranged and conducted by”) on the DVD.

My Hanukkah song, “Eight Days and Nights” is looking for more Holiday exposure. Come on-how many good Hanukkah songs are there with a huge gospel choir doing the back ups? Huh? I didn’t think so. So, if you know someone in radio, please email me!

And finally, my new blog, "Please Don't Eat Sushi", is up and running. It’s a trial run for a book I’m putting together documenting some very funny letters my mother wrote to me between 1981 and the present day. Read. Listen. Enjoy. And I promise to not take another year to write again!
